Production centres

Luxembourg

This production centre specialises in the industrial production and management of text-based data: digitising documents, extracting content (via OCR and manual input) and adding value to the content (XML tagging, organisation into document databases).

This know-how is vital when working on major projects such as Procat, Arcel or Eudor, all of which are document content conversion and consolidation projects spanning several years, entrusted to
Infotechnique by major European institutions. Teams of legal experts, document management experts, librarians and archiving experts are working full-time on delivering these services and adding value to / formatting or archiving data.

Our production centre collects, digitises and indexes large volumes of registers and incoming letters on behalf of several Belgian Federal public institutions on a daily basis.

France

Infotechnique’s production centre in France is based in the Alsace region. It is a leading centre for the preservation of documents and archives in digital form.

The centre is involved, in partnership with IBM, in the deployment and implementation of the AMALFI project, which is designed to ensure the long-term survival of and allow shared access to land registry records in the Alsace-Moselle region. The project involves dealing with an extensive collection of 40,000 hand-written registers that are still being used and updated in 46 land registry offices.

For such projects that require a high degree of reliability, cutting-edge though tried-and-tested technologies are put into operation, both for the logistical support (GPS monitoring of collection / restitution vehicles, tracing the registers using RFID chips, satellite links for the transmission of images between digitising lab and data input centre), and production (digitising machines featuring high-performance page-turning mechanisms, high-quality digital image compression techniques).

Belgium

Based in Brussels, Infotechnique’s Belgium production centre provides logistical and administrative consolidation and operation processes for multilingual scientific and technical data generated continuously from multiple sources.

As part of the European Commission’s Framework Programme 7 (FP7) project – a project spanning several years and worth 18.5 million euros – the Belgium centre has implemented a management, consolidation and distribution process for the dozens of complex proposals that are received daily by the Research departments of the European Commission.
